The world will never be the same

I don't think it would be possible for me to forget the day when I uttered the words ''the world will never be the same.'' I had heard a snippet of the radio news broadcast whilst visiting a newsagent, something about the World Trade Centre. Thought nothing of it. There had been some attempt years before to cause disruption, but it was not etched in memory as particularly significant.
I walked home, and lay down on the couch for a sleep. On awakening, turned on the TV.... It was about 15.30GMT, so 10.30am NYC... PLANES FLYING INTO those majestic buildings, one and then the other (planes and buildings)... the type of images which feel somehow 'wrong', yet compelling, to watch. over and over and over and over. Simply aircraft being DELIBERATELY (!!!) (one doing so could be an error, two being not possible) directed into now very fragile-looking structures. Planes and buildings with many individuals in them. The news footage included people's voices, imparting shock, disbelief and horror.
''The world will never be the same'' I think and say to my wife. And it feels that everyone in the world is watching a tv and thinking the same collectively.
There were reports of shocking incidents involving other aircraft. They did not scar the memory like the 'Hollywood blockbuster' being played, rewound and re-played for what seems many hours.
And then the towers fell to the ground, one and then the other.
I don't think there was any other issues worthy of newstime that day, or for a while. The world had already changed. This had been planned with precision.
And there would be a heavy price to be paid. Again, it felt like the 6 billion on earth knew this.
The 'Twin Towers' have a special place in my heart. My sister took a photo of me at the top of the South Tower when my family visited NYC in November 1998. It had been a beautiful day, just like September 11th, 2001. A special and memorable day indeed.
Hopefully some time in the future I will visit, with loved-ones, the building(s) which will be erected on Ground Zero.

I appreciate the whole idea of the innocent (perhaps usually childish?) flip-book being utilised in the way you have done as an artist.
