of course they were (flashed in unimportant fifteen-second human-interest-type stories) covered by the media, if only for a week or so. of course thousands of people, maybe not 'innocent' or 'pure,' but thoroughly uninvolved, unaware or uninterested in the 'message' al-qaeda was, and is, trying to send lost their lives in seconds. the lucky few. far too many plummeted from the highest floors of the World Trade Center because their feet were melting to the floor. those people, not to mention the fire-fighters, police, tourists - both on and off the airplanes - were forced to live long enough to perhaps ponder the same questions as i...

'what the fuck was the 'message'? 'how does flying a plane into a building prove any point?' 'were the craziest terrorists the brainwashed pilots or the leaders who saw logic in this act?'

i am about to purchase several flipbooks, for myself and others; however, one thing baffles me, and i would love to see a barcodeart flipbook series about this: the world forgot the first plane because of the lack of footage. the world forgot the third plane because of americans' general disinterest in, or dislike of, the little they know about our government; who cares about the pentagon anyway? nevermind the airplane passengers...they weren't 'lucky' enough to die upon impact with a huge, popular landmark. as for the fourth plane... you remember, the one that 'crashed because the passengers defeated the terrorists in one final, heroic act' in pennsylvania - on a side note, though it sounds horrible, i give full approval to the person in my theory who ordered the plane shot down in an abandoned field - the world forgot almost instantly. maybe it was a cover-up; more likely it wasn't as sexy, so to speak, as the Twin Towers.

i ask of you not so much a favor, but a challenge, to help the world remember the other forgotten hundreds of people, as well as their loved ones who watched a fifteen-second clip of the trivialized deaths for whom they cared so much. how enraged those families and friends must be to hear september eleventh referred to as 'the World Trade Center attack.'

while many other tragedies have been forgotten by the masses, perhaps you can see now why i find it absolutely necessary to create a memorial, albeit a flipbook, to remind as many people as possible of the lives we forgot.
