Second IM Chat
Portland, Oregon - December 26, 2008

hey man , can i have a flipbook , im not sure if you are doing this still

right on, any reason you want the 911 flipbook?
I am still giving the flipbooks away, but I may not have time to chat right now.

well no one will ever forget spt11 , and its reached a level of discussion that was only previously touched by some of the most "taboo" subjects, such as religion and politics, i think sept 11 had to happen and sometimes i feel that it was needed, i am not content in any way that those people lost there lives.

oh.. ok let me read

i still have more things to say but we can continue this later.

I got a couple minutes

by the way i admire the work your hands and brain put out.

You said Sept 11th had to happen?

yes
it had to happen, people needed to wake up. now i am not nor consider myself a terrorist.
americas head was getting too big. and it is a shame that it had to come to that, now the fact that whoever caused this , has not been caught or jailed is yet another thing that will never be solved.
and adds to the whole mystery of it, nothing adds up and the two possible sides that could be responsible have enough money to buy anyone out that would squeel.
and if you do squeel , that would be the last thing to ever come out of your mouth.

I know we all have opinions about the day, and Osama and Bush.
I really want to find out what you think of the flipbook,
DO you think it is bad to make art like that

let me say this in the most honest way posibble.

Do you think I am furthering the terrorists succesfull attack

FUCK NO
you did good
and as much as people want to call you a weirdo, sicko terrorist
nah i dont buy that

But doesn't the terrorist want everyone to see him killing and succeding?

people who are afraid to see the truth that is being expressed in any for of art are the cowards here.
no

It is like a football team celebrating the other teams touchdown.

i really think the terrorist wants to do his or her plan and be forgotten
the dont want to steal the spot light all the time, they want only a few seconds of fame, you see they are not greedy which in a way proves their point that americas head is too big.

I fell 99% justified in making the flipbooks, but I tend to focus a lot on the 1% of doubt

i see.
and its because you care. but sometimes you shouldnt, people who are not willing to listen to you opinions are the people who are the ones doing all the harm to this earth.

I was trying to make something good from a bad situation

and you are man.

but some people think shit in = shit out
or terror in = terror out

no . terror in , should equal opening ones eyes.

The flipbook will be your mini-wake-up reminder of sorts?

yes
its like a huge alarm for the world to wake up and its been sitting on the nightstand in the "land of the free"

it is odd how I do remember feeling hyper aware when the attacks happened, and that feeling has fadded.

yeah and how the whole point was missed.

I am still working on the flipbook project, so I still see the images daily basis
the images still get, and you don't see them in the media as much, obviously taboo to press people's emotional buttons.
I feel like the flipbook allows the viewer to press their own emotion buttons directly

the only time you hear about terror now is when some politician is trying to look after the well being of someone, when really the guy probably has a plan b and plan c and will always have more of a chance to survive than you , theoretically speaking of course.

yeah the most recent Republican national convention had 911 montage that was later said to be in bad tasts
I am satisifed with our little caht

i love photos , i am a photographer, i and i mainly shoot sequences.

Unless there is more you'd like to say

and this is one sequence i wish i woul've shot, i was in 10th grade when this happened
i was on my way to the bus stop
and as i sat there fifteen minutes prior to the attack i sat in my parents kitchen and ate cereal.
i didint finish the cereal.
and when i went outside the air felt dirty,
as i got on the bus i heard some girl saying it was a terrorist attack.
but the feeling i remember the most was the feeling i got from hearing those words come out of her mouth.
i heard nothing, i didnt belive her, and i still dont believe anything the media portrays.

I remember when I first my friend Paul say the words "terroist attack"

i am not a lab rat and i would much rather die knowing the truth than living a lie.

There are lots of interesting versions of the truth out there
I believe fun time to be alive
post 911 world

mee too
