My Friends Zine by María Raquel Cochez
Photographs of topless girls with paper bags covering their faces by María Raquel Cochez. The artist's determination is to create a broader dialog regarding today's standards of beauty, highlighting reality instead of fantasy. The zine includes an essay by Raúl Altamar Arias. I met Raquel in college and we have remained close friends ever since. Check out her website at MariaRaquelCochez.com
I personally assemble each zine in my studio in Omaha, Nebraska. They are printed on 32 pound paper (120 gsm) and bound with staples. The zine measures 5.25 x 3.625 inches (13.34 x 9.21 cm) with 26 pages, signed, and dated. |
